The smallest of the famous Indonesian islands is Bali. Compared to Java it is about 25 times smaller and therefore easier to travel. It is about 100 kilometers from north to south, but still good for about 4 hours.

Bali is called the island of the Gods, referring to the many Hindu gods and the thousands of temples that are offered several times in daily life. There are several temples worth visiting, especially the mother temple Puri Besakih, on the slopes of Mount Gunung Agung.

In the far west you arrive by ferry from Java in the port of Gilimanuk. The Travel Table takes you via the north coast to the center and further to the famous southern resorts of Sanur, Kuta and surroundings, the Nusa Dua peninsula and the islands of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida.

Divers no longer reveal themselves when they discover Nusa Manjangan. At Tulamben it is busy with wreck divers, experienced divers can indulge in the islands off the coast of Candidasa and Padangbai and off the coast of Nusa Penida beginners can also get acquainted with the manta rays. The Mola Mola sunfish also appear in these waters from July to October.

Surfers spend breathless days along the west coast, in the Kuta area there is plenty of opportunity to take surf lessons.

Accommodations come in many varieties. From budget and middle class hotels to 5 star hotels and private villas. They are all located along the coast, in the busier centers and between the rice fields. Yoga, healing and other spiritual experiences can be found everywhere, but the real peace and dedication is mainly found near Munduk.

Culinary Bali is also an experience: freshly caught lobster, crab, lagoustines, red gurnard and many more of these delicacies can be found in many good restaurants and at the beach bars at Jimbaran. The most delicious Bebek Bengil is served in Ubud and saté liling at numerous local warungs and rumah makans. Babi Guling, roast suckling pig, is also a delicacy, but is not on the menu at many restaurants. Well, and if you are talking about Balinese specialties: many dishes have the adjective Bumbu Bali. Lick your fingers! A wonderfully spicy and often spicy way of preparing.
