Tengarong

Not far from Samarinda is the town of Tenggarong. Here is the Sultanate of Kutai: Kertanegara.

Every year, usually in August or September, the Erau festival takes place here. The festival is an annual traditional event, where the Dayak people of East Kalimantan try to exorcise the evil spirits and ask the good spirits with sacrifices for health and happiness.
