FakFak
FakFak
Fak-Fak is a port town on the southern coast of the Onin peninsula, at the foot of the Fakfak Mountains, south of the Vogelkop peninsula in the province of West Papua. For tourists, Fak-Fak does not have much to offer. Actually only veterans and old residents of Dutch New Guinea come to the town. Incidentally, the fauna and flora in the Fakfak Mountains seems to be beautiful and untouched.
The city is situated on a rocky coast and forms a natural harbor. The city is connected to its hinterland by roads, but these roads lead to a dead end on the adjacent Bomberai peninsula. Fak-Fak airport has daily flights to Sorong and several times a week to Manokwari.
