Merauke

Merauke is Indonesia's easternmost city. It is located on the south coast of the island of New Guinea. It is a district in the eponymous regency Merauke in the southeast of the Indonesian province of Papua. There is little to see or experience for tourists in Merauke. The nearby Wasur National Park is an inaccessible, but beautiful nature reserve to spot strange birds.


Merauke airport has daily flights to Jayapura and Makassar and several weekly flights within Papua.
