Lombok, the island of the thousand mosques ...

The island of Lombok is dominated by both the many prayer towers and the imposing Rinjani volcano. The climb of the volcano requires an excellent condition and takes 2 or 3 days. On the flanks of the volcano are a number of traditional Sasak villages. Lombok is a great and quieter alternative to Bali, with beautiful beaches at Senggigi and surf opportunities on the south coast. The famous Gilli islands of Trawangan, Meno and Air have a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and offer plenty of diving and snorkelling opportunities. The lesser known Gili's in the south offer the same possibilities, but are still really untouched.

The climate on Lombok is similar to that of Bali, the rainy season runs from November to March. During these months there is a heavy shower every day, often in the afternoon and evening. It is also possible that there are several days of rain all day.
In the period April-October it is generally dry, with occasional showers.

Just like in the rest of the world, the climate here also changes and they are only seasonal averages.
