Mendut and Pawon temples - Magelang -

These two temples probably date from the same period as the Borobudur. It could be that they were part of one big design. In the Mendut temple you can find a number of special and large statues. When you walk in you stand directly opposite a three meter high Buddha statue. Both temples were restored around 1900. The Pawon temple is a bit smaller. The dome on the roof was set up during the restoration, but whether the roof actually looked like this before is not certain.
